January Studio Update
Show announcement, and more
Upcoming show
I’m excited to announce my second show at the TILL Wave Gallery in Watertown, MA.
This past fall, ‘Mend. Accept. Persist’ was featured in a show at TILL Wave. When I went to pick up that piece, they asked me to join in their Winter Showcase 2026.
There will be six artists featured. This will be my first show exhibiting multiple works!
Please join us for the reception on Thursday, February 12th from 5pm-7pm. I’d love for you to see my work in person and to chat with you.
The show will be up from February 12 - April 19 at the TILL Wave Gallery located at 264 Arlington St. in Watertown, MA. Their standard gallery hours are Wednesdays 10am-6pm, and Saturdays 10am-6pm.
In the making / scenes from the studio
This winter has felt slow. I’ve run into some troubleshooting issues with my welder. Waiting for new parts to ship, and also experimenting with new processes have inevitably slowed me down. Maybe this is winter’s way of forcing me to heed its call.

Studio purchases (thanks to your support)
As I mentioned, I’ve been troubleshooting my welder. I’ve needed to order a new welding gun liner and a new nozzle.
Thanks to you, I was able to purchase these items using income you’ve provided me from Substack. With fine art not being a super viable way to make money, getting paid directly from supporters like you is the best way to try to sustain my practice. So, seriously, THANK YOU!

I did a write-up about this exhibition on my secondary Substack, ‘blank margin.’

Thinking…
I’ve been playing in other mediums (ones that I can do in the warmth of the indoors), namely pen & ink, cut paper, and screenprinting. This practice has beckoned me to loosen up my expectations. I’m understanding that even if it looks “bad,” it’s still worth finishing, I’ll still have made something. The act itself brings a sense of joy and fulfillment.
Also, ruminating on the new processes I’ve been trying out with steel:

Congratulations on the upcoming show! That is fabulous and love hearing you are experimenting with 2D. If you ever need more space to screenprint…..I think I know of a space 😉
